I have totally ZERO knowledge about making a truck RC, let alone a rock crawler type which is much more complicated than ordinary truck because it have a complicated articulation that makes it able to “crawl” among those rocks while other type of RC car cannot.

So I try to observe and learn what “ingredient” we need, and how was the chassis constructed anyway.  Well that does not matter for our OEM RC Car but it does matter for our Homemade RC Car because we need to construct the chassis ourself.  This is a little bit like a reverse engineering, but it’s legal way because we bought the original equipments from their manufacturer.

OEM RC Car

To build the complete body for OEM RC car is quite easy but we will spend more money compare to Homemade RC Car.  Let’s list out in details what we need to PURCHASE.

Still lack of knowledge what I will get from the market, so I will update this list if I found out that I really need additional items.

Homemade RC Car

Ok, although we can actually build or substitute almost all parts, we still can opt-in into OEM parts.

1. Body Shell (Optional)
   You can make your own body from boxes, or Aluminium sheets.  Come on, imagination is the limits.
2. Axles (Front & Rear) [Optional]
   Including the steering rack for front axle.  However this is optional.
   But for real satisfaction, let’s leave this one to original equipments manufacturer.
3. Transmission (Optional)
   Also optional, but for the best result, purchase this part.
4. Motor
5. Servo
6. Wheels
7. Tyres
8. Battery
